Matt,

I have been working on redoing my website using TTG Highslide Gallery Pro and TTG Pages. While doing so, I decided I wanted sub-indexes so I also purchased TTG Auto Index. I played with it for a day or so, then was able to successfully make sub indexes. Then after a day of not working on my site, I tried to go back to work. However, when starting lightroom, I received an "Assertion failed" error. I researched this on the web, and was able to get Lightroom to start by renaming the Preferences file. Lightroom seemed to work okay again, except when I tried to go to the web module, than I got the error message again. The exact message is:

"An unexpected error occurred while loading a module: Assertion failed: lau_pcode (L,2,1,0)==0"

I tried reloading Lightroom and got the same result. Eventually I found that if I uninstalled TTG Auto Index (by removing the TTG Auto Index folder from the Web Galleries folder), Lightroom appears to work okay again.

Can you help me on getting Lightroom to work with TTG Auto Index again? I'm running on an Windows XP machine, using Lightroom 2.7

Export it, put it on your server someplace then point a new menu item at it. The documentation covers how to install galleries.

How do I set up auto index for another menu item, outside of the default gallery menu item?

Quick question - is it possible for a "Last updated:" field to be added under the title and paragraph for each section in the index?

I was confused by the install process. When exporting from LR, you have to export to a subfolder (which I did within my main web folder). But for the process to run correctly, all the files need to be in the root web folder with all the separate gallery folders as subfolders.

I do notice tho that when accessing my test site for this tool, that it runs a long time before bringing up the page. I assume the php process and xml processes all run each time a person browses to the index.php file. I have a large number of galleries and am afraid this is going to be very very slow.wwwww.

In my experience, www.1and1.com offers reasonable hosting at a good price. I use www.mediatemple.net; unparalleled support, but they're pricier.

I do not recommend Frontpage. Not at all. Dreamweaver is a better choice, or a text-editor. Or you could simply use Lightroom with TTG engines. TTG Pages allows you to create the basic website structure, and then you are already familiar with some of my other tools. The resulting site's pages would be more cohesive than what you're currently using. There are several demonstration videos on the TTG Pages product page, and you're welcome to download the trial version to play with. The trial version will not export pages, but you experiment with all of the design features within the Web module.

I'm really small time in my business. Do you have a host you recommend that is comparable in price and unlimited storage? I use Frontpage to design and maintain my website. Trying to stay cost effective. Do you recommend another program? Thanks for any advice.

The documentation above states: "Recommended server specs: A Linux web server running Apache, PHP 5 or higher with Glob function support."

PHP 5. With Yahoo Small Business hosting and PHP 4.3.11, I'm amazed the earlier version ever worked, and how you can be satisfied with your current hosting I just don't understand. The current version of PHP is 5.3.2, which is more versions ahead of 4.3.11 than I care to count. Among other things, you're missing out on a lot of security improvements and fixes. Your host has not updated their servers in years. I'll spare you the long list of other complaints, and sum up simply by saying their servers are known to be pretty lousy. Also, you said, "I don’t know how to go about getting an upgrade." If you don't know how to contact tech support, that should raise a flag. Four out of five attempts calling my host, MediaTemple, I can have an intelligent human being on the line within five minutes. That is the sign of a good host.

Thank you for your help. As of right now I'm satisfied with the web hosting. I just wish I had known this before I spent the money to upgrade to autoindex 3.3

Probably something to do with updates to the PHP script in version 3.2. Yahoo Small Business web hosting explains a lot; they are known offenders for unorthodox and outdated PHP configurations, and one of my least recommended web hosts. So my advice to you is either to roll back to version 3.1, or seek new hosting. Long term, new hosting is probably the better idea.

Good luck.
