TTG Monoslideshow-2

Monoslideshow is a Flash slideshow designed for maximum flexibility, whether you want to have a professional looking portfolio, or a simple image rotator on your website. TTG Monoslideshow-2, built exclusively for Lightroom 3, allows you easy access to Monoslideshow’s many options and features, and lets you view your changes in real-time in the Web module preview.

Among its many configuration options, Monoslideshow 2 includes a full-screen mode, professional transitions, Ken Burns effects, customizable image navigation and slideshow options, and can create slideshows of any size.

Please note that Monoslideshow and TTG Monoslideshow-2 must be purchased separately. TTG Monoslideshow-2 does not include the Monoslideshow Flash component, which must be licensed and supplied separately from http://www.monoslideshow.com.

You can demo Monoslideshow using the interactive demo on the Monoslideshow site. For the most part, TTG Monoslideshow-2 duplicates these controls, though there are some differences.

System Requirements

TTG Monoslideshow-2 requires Lightroom 3 Beta 2 or greater.

Setup

As previously stated, users should supply their own copy of the Monoslideshow Flash component ( monoslideshow.swf ) purchased from http://www.monoslideshow.com. TTG Monoslideshow-2 works with Monoslideshow 2.12 or higher, which can be downloaded from your user area on the Monoslideshow website. TTG Monoslideshow-2 will not function without this component, and will not accept earlier versions of the Flash component.

To setup TTG Monoslideshow-2, unzip the distribution file, then open the .lrwebengine package contained within. The procedure to do this varies according to your operating system:

On a Mac, Ctrl-click the .lrwebengine package and select “Show Package Contents” to open the package as a folder.

On Windows, simply double-click the package to open it as you would a folder.

Copy your monoslideshow.swf file into the .lrwebengine package, as shown below.

Copy monoslideshow.swf into the .lrwebengine package.

You may now close the folder, then proceed with the standard installation instructions to get the web engine into Lightroom.

Hi Matthew,

i got some problems when trying to work with the monoslideshow plugin but i did not find any help on your site. When i try to use it i get this error messages:

SOMETHING WENT WRONG
“gridFitType” is not a valide attribute for caption
“gridFitType” is not a valide attribute for basic caption
“gridFitType” is not a valide attribute for basic caption
“position” is not a valide attribute for album configuration
“margin” is not a valide attribute for album configuration

I tried to deactivate the gridfittype but the errors won’t disappear.

Any idea?

BR, Max

Please make sure you are using the most up-to-date version of Monoslideshow, which is currently 2.13.

Hi Matthew,

Thanks so much for your excellent work. I appreciate how much you have put into these products.

I am just working through TTG Monoslideshow-2 (installed yesterday) and I have a couple of small issues. I am running Windows 7 Pro and LR3 Beta 2. Most I have tried is working perfectly, but two issues are reproducible.

1. the HTML tag makes no change in the exported index.html. The tag is always: MSS

2. In the “Caption: Descriptions” section if I change the “Weight” to “Bold”, an error appears stating:

SOMETHING WENT WRONG
“bold” is not a valid value for “style”, please use: “normal”, “italic”, default: “normal”.

This error does not occur in the “Caption: Titles” section when I change the “Weight”.

Thanks,
Gary

Thans again for all the work you do to make this possible. I am getting close !! I have expanded my pages menu to include additional items. I will be experimenting with iconic gallery grids. Several questions have come to mind. Will my expanded menu, site info, color pallete, etc created on TTG pages carry through on the gallery pages? If so, is it even necessary to configure the site info and color pallete, etc when setting up TTG Highslide pro?
I have a series of images I wish to autoplay, looping with no controls along with an mp3 audio clip on my homepage. The viewer will watch that slideshow as long as they wish. The only way out will be to click another menu item. Returning to home will start the auto looping slideshow again. It appears that monoslideshow 2 will do this but it requires Lightroom 3 Beta but I am working with Lightroom 2.6 and just can’t wait for 3.0
Will TTG highslide pro do it? Does it support audio? Can you recommend something? I think my website will be quite unique if I can get this together. Again, thanks for your assistance. Do you ever sleep?

You will also need to add the expanded menu items to your gallery pages; this will not happen automatically.

“If so, is it even necessary to configure the site info and color pallete, etc when setting up TTG Highslide pro?”

Yes! This may save you some time.

TTG Highslide Gallery Pro does not support music, though it does support auto-play. If you want to do the musical slideshow, Monoslideshow is definitely my best recommendation (though music cannot be configured via Lightroom, you can add this manually by editing the exported gallery XML file). LR3 or LR3 Beta 2 will be required.

Honestly, I don’t sleep much. Never have.

Again, huge thanks for all the work you have done with TTG’s lightroom templates! Wow.

I’ve gotten sloppy about updates, etc. and now I’m confused with which version this and that that I need. I’m using LR 2.6 and wanting to redo my website using TTG Pages (version 3.4.2) is the latest I have installed. I was hoping to use Monoslideshow on my homepage. TTG Monoslideshow 2 is only for LR 3 beta though right? So can I still get TTG Monoslideshow that will run in LR 2.6 and will I need a different version of TTG MSS2 XMLer to make it work? I probably won’t be upgrading to LR 3 for awhile after its release…

I’m planning on using TTG Highslide Pro (2.0 is the latest I have installed) for my galleries from Pages.

Thanks again, I really, really appreciate the support you provide! You have no idea how much it is appreciated!

PS. I think I have answered my own question, looks like I’m going to have to use LR 3 and TTG Monoslideshow 2. Will that combination work with Pages 3.4.2?

Thanks again!

TTG Monoslideshow-2 works in LR3.

I can’t remember whether TTG Pages 3.4.2 supports Monoslideshow-2 or not, but there is a newer version with some nice new features. You should check out the new video on the TTG Pages page about the Iconic index layout.

As for TTG Highslide Gallery Pro, 2.0.1 is the current release and includes some important bug fixes; or hold out a little while longer for version 2.0.2, which should be a nice update.

I got time to work with TTG Monoslideshow 2 again and found another anomaly. As I started working with it the window in LR3 only showed a blue-gray background and the Mono Slideshow logo in the center. I assumed I had to preview in a browser to see the slideshow work. Until I got to the section “Global: Mark” and checked the “Display Identity Plate” box. Suddenly the slide show appeared in LR3 and can be tested without going into a browser preview. Unchecking “Display Identity Plate” returns the blue-gray background and the Mono Slideshow logo.

I saw in your notes you have already fixed the issues I saw earlier. Thanks so much for your willingness to hop on issues that appear.

The mark issue was introduced in a recent update to Monoslideshow. Monokai updated the gallery component, but the update caused an issue with the mark that caused the gallery to become incompatible with the LR plugin. We’ve since put heads together and sorted it out. I have an update to release yet for the LR plugin, but MSS 2.15 should resolve the issue with the mark.

Thank you for your quick reply. I just checked and 2.15 does indeed solve the issue.

I had been working with MSS 2.15 for an application that doesn’t use Lightroom and never thought to update MSS in the LR plugin..

The engine should display in Lightroom as TTG Monoslideshow-2 1.0.1. You should also purchase the Monoslideshow Flash component from http://www.monoslideshow.com.

I tried re-downloading TTG Monoslideshow-2 and I also show the 1.0 version.

The Changelog above on this web page shows 1.0.1 still “In development”. Am I missing something? I would like to get the 1.0.1 version.

My apologies. Version 1.0 is the current public release.
