How will this affect The Turning Gate, you may wonder? Well, I probably won’t be making any product updates until August, after I’ve settled into Los Angeles. Nothing too grievous there, as there seem to be no pressing issues with any of the plugins at the moment. I’ll probably be spotty on email for a while. I will check in when I can, but expect a longer delay on replies. With any luck, I’ll have my home office and Internet service setup quickly upon arrival, and things will get back to normal in short order.

This explains how to install a downloaded web engine into Lightroom. If you’re having trouble loading your purchased engine or update into Lightroom, make sure to have removed previous versions or demo versions from the Web Galleries folder before installing the new version.

Every product page contains important information on how to use each respective web engine. If you’re having difficulty or are confused by something, please double-check the documentation before writing in. You may have overlooked important information on your first visit.

Tutorials

There are tutorial videos all over the place on The Turning Gate. Some may be found on the product pages, the Video Manual for TTG Highslide Gallery Pro is full of good information and tips, and additional tutorials may be accessed from the Articles menu in the sidebar.

These resources are always available, and should prove useful to you. If you still can’t find the answer you need, you can always contact me via email. During this time of geographic transition, however, on-site resources will probably yield faster results than contacting me directly.

Here are the new terms:

Upon purchasing a TTG web engine, you will receive a download link via email. This link should be kept and used to download future product updates. The link can be used nine times within one year of purchase, after which it will expire. After one year or nine downloads, a new purchase will be necessary to access additional product updates. Please file your download link in a safe place, as it cannot be retrieved if lost.

Your usage of downloaded TTG web engines is unrestricted by time or number of exports. Subscription limitations only apply to the download of product updates. You are free to use TTG web engines on any number of computers in a single household, or place of business that have Lightroom installed. Exported galleries and other assets may be published on any domain for which you are the owner. For publishing galleries and assets on additional sites not owned by you, a new purchase is required by or on the behalf of the domain owner.

You are not licensed to redistribute TTG web engines in any way, shape or form.

Please note that some third-party accessories, such as Highslide JS, may have different terms of use specified in their own licensing agreements. Users will be expected to comply with those terms of use in addition to the terms stated above.

If you have trouble receiving your download link after purchase, please ensure 1) that your payment has cleared with PayPal, and 2) that messages from E-Junkie.com are not being caught in your spam filter.

And for the sake of comparison, here are the old terms being replaced:

Upon purchasing TTG Highslide Gallery Pro, you will receive a download URL valid for nine uses or 352 days (1 year) — whichever comes first. After nine uses or one year, your URL will expire and a new purchase will be necessary to continue with updates. Gallery updates will always be available from that same URL. Thus, the URL can be used for the initial download, plus eight updates within a year of your purchase. Be sure to save your URL in a safe place, as it cannot be retrieved if lost. If you have trouble receiving your URL after purchase, please ensure 1) that your payment has cleared with PayPal, and 2) that messages from E-Junkie.com are not being caught in your spam filter.

No one can speak up for your rights better than you. In fact, there are a lot of people who don’t want you to stand up for your rights. But, as a creator, you know that maintaining ownership of your work is important. And having the freedom to choose how you copy, use, and distribute your work is also necessary for your success and livelihood.

The ASMP, along with other organizations in the Copyright Alliance, is urging photographers to sign an online letter to tell the President and Vice President that you want your creative work to be recognized and respected. The letter has not yet been launched to the public, as we want many artists to sign the letter before it is released to the public for other creators’ signatures.

The goal is to get at least 1500 signatures by artists and creators by Friday, September 25.

It’s easy to sign the letter. Just enter your name, artist type, city, state, and email and hit “sign”.

Sign the letter. And pass this message on to your other creative friends to sign the letter.

Your voice as an artist is important, so sign the letter today!
