New slideshow feature in TTG Pages 3.7

by theturninggate on June 14, 2010

TTG Pages 3.7 is now available for download. A major addition in this version is the new slideshow feature for the Home page. Slideshows are rendered using the JQuery-based GalleryView slideshow plugin, providing you a non-Flash slideshow option for the front page that functions in desktop browsers, as well as on the iPhone and iPad. The demonstration video below shows how to use this feature.

This update also includes the option to disable the right-click menu in exported galleries. For various reasons, I’ve never liked including this feature in my galleries. Users have asked for it, however, and I’ve managed to find a method of disabling the right-click on which I’m willing to compromise: script with a minimal footprint, and no obnoxious pop-ups replacing the right-click. The new implementation is functional, elegant, minimal and unobtrusive. Hurray!

A number of smaller additions have also made the release, detailed in the changelog below.

v3.7 ( 2010-06-14 )
New Javascript slideshow option for the Home page, powered by GalleryView.
Structural changes to accommodate slideshow.
Added option to disable right-click.
Added Font-style option for Menu Settings.
Footer can now be unstuck from the bottom of the page, allowing it to float just below page content as it used to.
Support for specifying languages other than English in the tag; if your language is not included and you’d like to see it in an update, let me know!
v3.6.1 ( unreleased; rolled into v3.7 )
PHP compatibility fixes.
CSS tweaks for templating purposes.
Added new class selectors allowing the individual images on each page to be targeted using custom CSS.

Hi,
why when I add the Copyright watermark option on Page 3.7 (or 3.5) does the text come up really big when I view it in safari, yet in light room it is nice and small just like it is in safari with the gallery pro. Is this something I am doing wrong or a bug?

Also is it possible to use a Captcha system on the form to email script as I’ve started to get spam coming through (just like you have on this submit).

Thanks,
Terry

LR2 automatically sizes the copyright watermark relative to the size of your image. Not something I or you have control over. If you want better watermarking, use the LR2/Mogrigy plugin, or upgrade to LR3.

Hallo,
I just discover the js galery video. quite nice ! I haven’t still tried 3.7 version.

In the past i asked to you several things and would like to know your opinion about these:
- can you add an option to remove “copy” text from home page. It is possible to start from copy left or bottom and disable copy lines but I had noticed some unwanted lines in html code
- can you add an option to remove the area around the home slideshow independently of the about and contact page ? It often occurs than home slideshow is centered on a black screen without box around it especially when you remove copy text. On the other hand it is nice to keep it for about and contact page because you did a beautiful design with this idea in all your templates
- any idea if one day you will implement your own “director” (or a trick to generate images locally from lr but replace these at the end with a link to the subfolder of galery containing all images) for all your slideshows ? I was in holidays one month and published images for family and friends and some albums like “san francisco” filled day by day until it contains 300 images. It is completely impossible with your slideshow to update daily galery pro for buying pictures or simply update a gallery. we always need to upload all images.

best regards
marc
